New Backend System for ToS2 – Now Live!
Hey Townies! Today’s patch introduces a stronger backend system for the game, this brings in improved security and modernized features. At this time, Town of Salem 2 is now using Lootlocker.

What is happening exactly with Town of Salem games & Loot Locker?
- We are moving to a stronger backend system that has better systems, better security, and more modern features. At this time Town of Salem 2 is now using LootLocker. Stay tuned for future announcements & updates on other LootLocker implementations.
What is a video game backend system?
- The backend is the framework that allows the game to work, including login, authorization, security, accounts, inventory, transactions, history, and more.
Why is this happening?
- We have been striving to improve the overall systems for the Town of Salem games and this is part of that plan.
What will this do?
- This update will give us better tools for moderation, player accounts, player history, and helps ensure we can continue to improve your experience.
What will change from my player perspective?
- You may notice improved moderation, more streamlined support & other improvements that are brought on through this update. Otherwise, you should have relatively the same in-game experience. We’re continuing to explore & implement more ways to reduce lag.
Do I need to do anything?
- Nope! This update does not require any action from individual players.
What if I have a problem with my Town of Salem account after this change?
- In the event you have an account issue after this change takes effect, please contact us via the official Town of Salem games Discord by opening a ModMail ticket (instructions within the FAQ channel) OR reach out to us through the support email ( support@townofsalem.io).
Friend Referrals now use a unique code found in the in-game settings menu instead of your username
This update will go live on mobile platforms approximately 30 minutes after it went live on other platforms (if there are no major issues)
